At Location Location, we’ve always believed in using our prime high street position for good. For the past 10 years, our Stoke Newington office has been a drop-off point for Hackney Foodbank, and over that time, we’ve collected more than 10 tonnes of food! But with the demand for emergency food now at unprecedented levels, we’ve decided to do more.
From now on, we’ll be matching every single donation made to Hackney Foodbank at our office. So, for every tin or packet of food you drop in, we’ll double it. This commitment is indefinite because the need is so urgent.
As Vicky, one of our partners, puts it: “We’re deeply rooted in the community, and we feel it’s our responsibility to help those experiencing hardship. While we hope that one day food banks won’t be necessary, until that day comes, we’re here to support Hackney Foodbank in any way we can.”
This is just the latest of many charitable initiatives we’ve taken part in. Alongside the Local Buyers Club, we run the Winter Toy Appeal, helping thousands of children each Christmas. We’ve also coordinated large collections for asylum seekers in need.
Hackney Foodbank’s Head of Fundraising, Jenna Fansa, had this to say about our pledge: “Location Location has been one of our biggest supporters, and this incredible act of kindness is going to make a real difference. We would love to see more estate agencies stepping up like this to support their local food banks.”
If you’d like to help out, you can drop off non-perishable food at our office, knowing that your donation will go twice as far. Hackney Foodbank operates six distribution centers across the borough, and the demand is only rising – especially as we head into the winter months. In fact, they’re expecting to support over 1,500 people per week this Christmas if things continue as they are.
