Tickets are selling fast for a variety show in Hoxton Hall this February with acrobats, a comedian, singers, storytellers and a record-breaking explorer among those appearing.
The event ‘Bright Art Healthy Minds’ is being held by Hackney Speaker Anya Sizer to celebrate the borough and raise funds for her three charities: St Joseph’s Hospice, Hoxton Hall and Ministry of Stories. It’s being hosted by Shaun Wallace of ITV’s The Chase.
Among the performers on the night are the East London School of Music, Ministry of Stories, refugee charity Counterpoint Arts, published poet Sonia Cummings and Jessica Hepburn (one of the only women ever to swim the Channel and climb Everest).
Anya explained: “It’s a showcasing of the best of Hackney’s arts and artists and a chance for brilliant local organisations and people to get together.
“Bright Art Healthy Minds is an opportunity for us to celebrate Hackney’s proud history of community resilience and creativity as well as creating a legacy for the community by sharing some of the mental health support available. You will leave not only having seen some of the nation’s finest performances but also having a greater awareness and connectivity to the help that is already available.”
