Location Location Estate Agency Matching Summer Food Bank Donations

A Stoke Newington estate agency has pledged to match donations for Hackney Foodbank dropped to its Church St office during the Womens World Cup and Summer Holiday.
 
Location Location, which is a permanent drop-off point for the food bank, is pledging to match by weight all donations received from July 19th till September 1st.
 
The cost-of-living crisis is creating huge pressure for the food bank. This June they provided emergency food parcels for more than twice the number of people they fed in the same month last year; up from 1,218 to 2,773.
 
Vicky Bibiris, a Partner at Location Location, said: “So many people are feeling the strain of rising costs but for those living on the breadline things are so much worse.  It isn’t ok that people are going hungry.  As a community business, it’s right that we do what we can to help. I hope people will give generously. Whatever we collect in the six-week summer holidays, we’ll match.”
 
Hackney Foodbank is currently feeding around 650 people per week from its six distribution centres across the borough. Their summer lunch club is expected to provide well in excess of 500 meals – ensuring schoolchildren don’t go hungry.
 
Location Location has been supporting the food bank for around a decade.

Location Location is at 18 Stoke Newington Church St. Please donate non-perishable food items such as tins of fruit, meat and vegetables, tinned soup, dried pasta and rice, jars of pasta sauce or curry sauce and biscuits. They’re also collecting sanitary pads and washing up liquid.
