Each October, our Church Street window gets a haunting new look, and this year, there’s a skeleton hard at work over a bubbling cauldron!
The eerie scene, created by Vicky Bibiris and Joel Brown, is the latest in our annual Halloween tradition that’s become a real local favourite here in Stoke Newington.
If you’ve wandered past in previous years, you might remember some of our past creations: a towering winter dragon in 2023, a giant glowing jack-o’-lantern in 2022, a menacing werewolf in 2021, and even a plague doctor and witch in earlier years. Each year, we aim to bring a bit of seasonal magic to Church Street and give our community something to smile (or scream) about.
“We love putting these displays together,” says Managing Director Vicky Bibiris. “It’s something fun for the community to enjoy, and the fact it also helps support Hackney Foodbank makes it even more meaningful.”
Trick or Eat: giving Halloween extra heart
Our spooky skeleton also plays a part in Trick or Eat, the local food collection initiative we run with the Local Buyers Club, supporting Hackney Foodbank. Over the past seven years, Trick or Eat has collected more than 14 tonnes of food for local families in need.

If you’re passing by 18 Stoke Newington Church Street this October, stop for a peek at our display (and maybe snap a selfie 👻). And if you can, drop off a tin or packet to help support local families this Halloween, every little helps.
Happy Halloween from all of us at Location Location!
